Pueblo Police Department donates new bikes to local elementary

PUEBLO — The Pueblo Police Department is helping a school in need.

Parkview Elementary was denied a grant to purchase balance bikes for the younger kids a the school.

The Pueblo Police Department heard they needed help and stepped in.

Members of the department pulled their money together and bought six new bikes for the school.

"It's food for the soul, it really is uplifting. It is so great to see them with smiles on their faces, the excitement, the light in their eyes," Chief Troy Davenport said.

The bikes help kids learn to balance while riding and will be used during P.E. class.
