PUEBLO — Two "Safe Streets" fugitives and another person wanted by police were arrested Wednesday morning by the Pueblo Police Department.

Officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle was in the area of the 1400 block of Craig Street that was possibly driven by a "Safe Streets" fugitive. They were able to find and recover the stolen car.

PPD said they had information that the fugitive was staying at a residence nearby, so they got permission from the homeowner to search the house.

Police said they found three fugitives hiding behind trap doors or under stairs. The three arrested are Tazz Martinez, Laura Abeyta and Curtis Valdez. Martinez is a former "Safe Streets" wanted fugitive and Abeyta is a current "Safe Streets" wanted fugitive.

The department said these three people had bonds totaling close to $500,000. PPD said Martinez and Abeyta were two of the "longest-standing Safe Streets wanted fugitives."
