PUEBLO — Pueblo's tax dollars are being put to work.
Pueblo Police say major crimes are down across the board when compared to this time last year.
Overall, major crime has dropped 19 percent, according to the department.
PD says the big reasons for this are the amount of officers added to the force, which is thanks to a voter approved tax and the way the officers are being used in different divisions.
"The proof is in the numbers and we appreciate them voting for it and supporting us for getting those additional officers," said Sgt. Franklyn Ortega.
The biggest dips in major crimes include theft, auto theft, and burglary.
