PUEBLO — A man in Pueblo reported to police that his wife was kidnapped early Tuesday, but authorities found out later on that she went with the man willingly.

The Pueblo Police Department said the woman's husband told police the couple ran into a man who kidnapped his wife "a short time" after they met.

Officers found the suspect vehicle near Thatcher Avenue and Pueblo Boulevard, which resulted in a pursuit.

Once police were able to stop the car using a tire deflation device, the driver ran from his car. PPD said they chased him and were able to take him into custody.

The woman told police she was not kidnapped and went with the man on her own terms, according to police.

Officers said the man was arrested for Eluding, Driving Under Restraint, and Resisting Arrest.

Police said they went back to the couple's home to drop off the woman and cite the husband for False Reporting, but he was not at the house.

The husband now has a warrant, according to police.
