PUEBLO — MLK Day ceremonies in Pueblo are going virtual this year.

Organizers said that is because of the pandemic and possible threats of violence.

The Pueblo NAACP is for people to watch the virtual ceremonies hosted by CSU Pueblo and Colorado College.

Both virtual ceremonies start at 8 a.m. on Monday.

The Pueblo NAACP President said even though the ceremonies are different this year, the message stays the same.

"Everything that he fought for, we are fighting for today. Just justice for all, equality for all and just unity," Roxana Mack said.

An MLK march will also happen this Saturday at 11 a.m. in Pueblo. It will start at the Vietnam War Memorial on Elizabeth St. and end at the MLK stature near I-25.
