PUEBLO — One group in Pueblo is getting closer to having an in-person graduation for seniors at Pueblo School District 60.

The "We Stand For Graduation" group has raised about $14,000, which is enough to have a graduation, but it is hoping to raise a couple thousand more to add to the event.

The group plans to have the ceremony at CSU Pueblo's Thunderbowl on July 24 and 25.

The event logistics are still being worked out as the group waits for a decision on Pueblo County's variance.

"We feel this is the most celebrated class, the class of 2020," said Shari Krasovic from 'We Stand Together for Graduation'. "We feel they have earned and worked so hard to have the traditional rite of passage to walk across the stage in front of their classmates, teachers, and family."

As for D60, its virtual graduation ceremonies started Wednesday and run through the end of the week.
