PUEBLO — A farmers market in Pueblo is now accepting Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits and Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT).

The farmers market accepting these benefits is Southern Colorado Farmers Market and Craft Fair at Mineral Palace Park. To take advantage, go to the food dollars tent and SNAP and EBT can be used to purchase food dollars to spend at the market.

"It means a lot because you know this food is locally grown, you know it is all fresh, you know it is from the people around you, and then it gets everybody involved," said Styria Bakery Employee Kyla Ross. "This isn't just people that have instant cash ready in their pockets, this is people that are from low income to high income families and it integrates everybody together."

The market is located in the swimming pool parking lot at Mineral Palace Park. Next Friday is the last one from 7 a.m. until 12 p.m.
