PUEBLO — The Pueblo District Attorney's office is being recognized for its work.

The DA's office has received the Outstanding Trial Achievement Award from the Colorado District Attorney's Council for its work on the murder case of Brad Fowler.

Fowler was shot and killed in December of 2016 during a drug deal gone wrong. The DA's work led to three people, who were all brought in from Oklahoma, going to trial for the homicide.

"I really think what this team award shows is what a cohesive group of folks that we have that are involved in the criminal justice system. We work together very, very well and this case just represented they way we work together to bring safety and justice to the Pueblo community," said Pueblo DA, Jeff Chostner.

The case was solved thanks to the cooperation and help from the Pueblo DA's office, Police Department, and the FBI.
