COLORADO SPRINGS — Colorado Springs residents will have the chance to weigh in on the proposed 2020 City Budget.
This year's budget is $23 million more than last year's budget, with most of that going toward public safety.
The public hearing will take place Monday evening from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at City Hall.
City Council's markup session is scheduled for next week.
Highlights of the 2020 General Fund budget includes:
- $4.4 million increased funding to add 20 new Police positions and 8 new Fire positions, equipment
- $1.4 million continued funding for City's Americans with Disabilities Act operating and capital programs
- $300,000 increased funding to Mountain Metro Transit
