COLORADO SPRINGS — The warmer weather has people in southern Colorado thinking about hitting the pool.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Colorado Springs outdoors pools operated by the YMCA are looking at delaying their opening this year.
Usually, the pools open Memorial Day weekend, but now social distancing requirements are keeping plans up in the air.
"At this point we're just waiting on any announcements from national, state or local health authorities before we make any decisions on what the outdoor pools are going to look like this summer. But, we do have a great team that's working really hard to come up with strategies and plans so we can open safely and responsibly when the time does come," Jenna Press with the YMCA said.
As of right now, the pools are not being prepped but the YMCA is looking at starting to fill them in the latter part of May.
