Police: Sexually Violent Predator living off West Las Vegas Street

COLORADO SPRINGS — A Sexually Violent Predator is moving off of West Las Vegas Street, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.

Michael Anthony Trujillo registered as homeless in the area of 5 W. Las Vegas St. near downtown Colorado Springs.

He is 37 years old and has tattoos on his face, chest, arms, wrist, hands, knee and back. Police said he is 6'1" and weighs 190 pounds.

CSPD said Trujillo had sexual contact with two young girls both under the age of 13 and is now released on parole.

Criminal history provided by the department shows Trujillo was convicted of Attempted Sexual Assault on a Child by one in a Position of Trust in El Paso County in 2003. He also was convicted of Escape in 2001, Attempted Escape in 2006, Third-Degree Assault in 2009, Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance in 2009, and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender in 2019.

He is one of 18 SVPs registered in Colorado Springs.

Under Colorado law, law enforcement agencies are required to notify the community when a SVP moves into the area.
