Police arrest suspect in deadly shooting in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS — A suspect is in custody following a shooting that left a man dead on the northeast side of Colorado Springs.

Around 11:10 a.m. Colorado Springs police received a call about a shooting in the 4600 block of Rusina Road. When officers arrived on the scene, they found an adult man with a gunshot wound.

28-year-old Steven Walters is in custody and has been booked into the El Paso County Jail. He is facing a first-degree murder charge.

The name of the victim will not be released at this time pending autopsy and notification of next of kin.
