EL PASO COUNTY — Pikes Peak Community College (PPCC) is partnering with the Denver-based Piton Foundation to offer families in El Paso County free tax preparation through the Tax Help Colorado program.
The school announced Monday that beginning Sat., Feb. 1, IRS-certified accounting students and volunteers will prepare and file tax returns free of charge for households with incomes of less than $56,000/year.
PPCC said the tax preparers receive comprehensive training to ensure the families they serve will get the best refund possible.
This free service will be offered by appointment only, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday from Feb. 1 to March 21. The service will be performed at PPCC's Centennial Campus' Aspen Building Rotunda, which located at 5675 S. Academy Blvd.
To make an appointment, call (719) 502-4TAX or email taxhelpco@ppcc.edu. Those receiving the service should bring social security card or ITINs, photo IDs, and tax documents.
