Pedestrian suffers two broken legs after being hit by suspected DUI driver

PUEBLO — Pueblo Police say a suspected drunk driver has been arrested after hitting a pedestrian Wednesday night.

The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of 19th and Norwood. Police closed the intersection for the investigation.

According to Pueblo Police, the victim suffered serious injuries, including two broken legs. They say the suspect left the area, but was captured with help from alert citizens. The suspect's car has also been recovered.

It's too early in the investigation to know exactly what charges will be filed, but police said the driver is suspected of driving under the influence. No names have been released.
