PUEBLO COUNTY — Parkview Medical Center is addressing a need in Pueblo County.

There was a groundbreaking event at Parkview's Pueblo West location on Friday morning for a new Orthopedic Hospital.

This new addition, costing about $58 million, will have 30 beds and six operating rooms and will help Parkview's main campus that has bed capacity challenges.

"Our main campus, we just don't have any space anymore" said Parkview's President Leslie Barnes. "We own 35 acres out here, and we always knew some day we would be here, so this is the start of a second campus for Parkview."

Work is expected to be done by April 20-22.
