Parking rules in Monument are different on snow days

MONUMENT — If you're new to the town of Monument, we have a reminder for you.

Parking on streets during snow events in Monument is against a town ordinance.

Two years ago, plow drivers recognized safety issues with cars blocking cul-de-sacs and cars along the roads in front of houses with long drive ways.

"Sometimes we get a complaint from the neighborhood and we explain to them that if you remove the cars, we'll do a really good job at cleaning your road," said Director of Public Works, Tom Tharnish.

Actual fines are rare, but the town will use code enforcement to address problem areas.
