GOLDEN — A two-story parade float collapsed in Golden on Saturday morning, sending 10 people to the hospital.

No one suffered life-threatening injuries and the most severe injury was a broken arm, police said.

The float was a sorority and fraternity participating in the Colorado School of Mines Homecoming parade. The float, which held about 30 people, was turning at 13th and Maple when the trailer hitch hit something, causing the float the collapse.
