PALMER LAKE — The town of Palmer Lake is considering closing down its Fire Department.
A meeting is schedule for Wednesday of the coming week to discuss the issue.
The town said on its Facebook page that funding is short and the department does not have the resources to build a new station or do all of the things they need to do operationally.
At the meeting Wednesday, the town Board of Trustees will be discussing closing the department and utilizing Tri-Lakes Monument for emergency calls.
Anyone who is interested in sharing their thoughts on the issue is invited to meeting to share. The meeting will be held Wednesday, July 17th at 6 p.m.
