PUEBLO COUNTY — Construction on a big project in Pueblo West is about to get underway.
CDOT will start work on an overpass on Purcell and Highway 50 next Monday.
The $44 million project will remove the traffic lights at the intersection and an overpass with off-ramps will be built.
"The first point in all of this is safety the second point is traffic flow. It is going to significantly improve safety as well as traffic flow between Pueblo and Pueblo West," Michelle Peulen with CDOT said.
The work is expected to be complete by next fall.
CDOT said there will be construction delays.
