COLORADO SPRINGS — With indoor activities still restricted, more people are turning to outdoor recreation, something outdoor gear shops are benefiting from.

Christy Sports in Colorado Springs said skis, snowboards, and snowshoes have been flying off the shelves this winter.

They tell us equipment rentals are leading the way, but sales are also doing well.

"That's where people are going right now," said Christy Sports store manager, Mike Lloyd. "They can't be indoors as much with other people so they're going out hiking, skiing, whatever they can do outside, and we're trying to accommodate them."

He adds that business has also seen an uptick because people are starting to become less worried about COVID-19, as more people receive their vaccinations.
