LA JUNTA — The Otero County Sheriff's Office says an investigation is ongoing, after the courthouse was placed on lockdown Thursday morning due to a "possible threat" against staff.
According to a news release, a person of interest has been detained related to those threats.
A tweet from the sheriff's office says a suspect is in custody and there is no threat to the community.

The sheriff's office says no other information can be released at this time.
The courthouse is located at the intersection of E 3rd St and Colorado Ave in La Junta just south of Highway 50.
