COLORADO SPRINGS — Despite the cold Saturday, Operation Homefront held its annual holiday toy drive for Colorado Springs military families.
The toy drive helps make the holiday season brighter for those who sacrifice so much.
Operation Homefront has partnered with Dollar Tree for more than a decade to collect toys and distribute them to military children nationwide.
"It's a small price to pay to be a little cold, to be out here outside. To see the smiles on the kid's faces and the relief on the parents' faces that we're able to help them to take maybe one of those gifts on their Christmas list," Program Manager Kathleen Coleman said.
Raytheon joined other volunteers Saturday to distribute toys, Dollar Tree stocking stuffers, and more.
The event was held in a drive-thru format to keep everyone involved safe.
