PUEBLO — Groups in Pueblo are giving back to kids in the community this holiday season.
The Pueblo Police Department teamed up with Toys for Tots "Operation Blue Santa" and they were at South High School on Wednesday handing out toys. The goal is to give away toys to every Pueblo School District 60 elementary student. Together, they have collected more than 7,000 toys.
"I think it is really amazing that the community did this for them," said Pueblo resident Tiffini Zamarripa. "She is excited because she is going to re-gift hers to someone else who is not getting a gift this year, so she is pretty excited."
The group will be handing out toys on Thursday at East High School and then at Central High School on Monday and Centennial High School next Tuesday.
