SOUTHERN COLORADO — Wednesday marks one year since the "Gap" project along I-25 started.

CDOT is making improvements between Monument and Castle Rock.

The improvements include a new express lane in each direction, widening the shoulders, building four new wildlife crossings, and much more.

In addition, CDOT is adding funds to replace the County Line Road bridge between El paso and Douglas counties.

The project is the longest work zone in the state and is expected to be complete by 2022.
