COLORADO SPRINGS — One person was taken to the hospital Monday morning after being shot in the parking lot of an apartment complex, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.
Police said the shooting happened around 5:30 a.m. at Elevate Apartment Homes. When officers arrived, they said the man was awake and talking to responders.
The man did not have life-threatening injuries, but he was taken to the hospital to be treated for serious injuries as a result of a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
The department said a vehicle was seen leaving the area of the shooting, but there is no suspect description available at this time. Officers were able to recover a gun at the scene and say there is no risk to the public at this time.
