LA VETA — Colorado State Patrol is investigating a motorcycle crash that left one person seriously injured in La Veta.
The crash happened around 4:15 p.m. Saturday on Huerfano County Road 450.
Authorities say the driver of the motorcycle, 62-year-old Louis McGinnis, was riding a red 2001 Harley-Davidson Roadking westbound on Huerfano County Road 450. Louis McGinnis failed to negotiate curve and rolled off the road.
The passenger on the motorcycle, 61-year-old Shari McGinnis, was ejected during the crash and suffered serious injuries.
Louis McGinnis was arrested and charged with vehicular assault and driving under the influence.
Alcohol and excessive speed are considered factors in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
