COLORADO SPRINGS — Colorado Springs police arrested a 22-year-old man after they said he fired multiple shots at several people near Old Colorado City early Tuesday morning.

Police say they were completing a call for service on Colorado Avenue around 1:12 a.m. when they heard multiple gunshots nearby. They quickly found several people near the intersection of Colorado Avenue and 31st Street who said another person had shot at them and took off running. They told officers that they didn't know who the person was. Luckily, no one was hurt in the exchange.

Officers searched the area, where they found 22-year-old Jeremiah Brock hiding near a business in the area. Police said they recovered evidence that linked him to the shooting and booked him into the El Paso County jail on suspicion of attempted murder and other charges.

This is the second shots fired incident in that area in recent weeks. On April 26, police investigated another shots fired incident near the same intersection. It's not clear if the incidents are related.
