FORT CARSON — Fort Carson issued a public service announcement Monday to alert the community to some "noise-generating training" that is happening on the Mountain Post.

The post said the noise-generating training, which includes artillery and aerial gunnery, is being conducted by three 4th Infantry Division brigades on Fort Carson training ranges. The units involved int he training include the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, and 4th Combat Aviation Brigade.

Fort Carson said the training is necessary so units are prepared for any potential mission they may be called upon to support around the globe.

While the training is happening, increased noise and dust should be expected in the evenings and throughout the night due to large-caliber training with live munitions. Increased aviation operations should also be expect at both Fort Carson and the Pinon Canyon Maneuver Site, the post said.

Fort Carson said they are dedicated to being neighbors and will continue to inform the public about training events that may affect surrounding communities.

The training, which began last week, will continue through Feb. 18.

Noise complaints should be directed to the Fort Carson Public Affairs Office at (719) 526-9849. For more information, contact the Fort Carson Public Affairs Office at (719) 526-7525.
