PALMER LAKE — Homeowners in Palmer Lake will now be able to save money on flood insurance thanks to new mapping technology.

The new technology has allowed Pikes Peak Regional Building to update flood plain maps.

Previous outdated maps were done by FEMA decades ago.

"For the longest time leading up until this, they were actually considered in the flood plain and that required them to have some potentially expensive flood plain insurance," said Greg Dingrando.

The new evaluation is expected to save Palmer Lake residents over $100,000/year.
