COLORADO SPRINGS — A new grocery store will open soon in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs.
The Vet Center building at the corner of Nevada and Moreno is being transformed into the Bread and Butter Downtown Market.
The market will offer grocery space with everything from canned goods to produce. There will also be space for wine and spirits.
The market's owners said it's the right time for this business.
"The downtown area is just growing in terms of residential apartments, hospitality, hotels, so we finally feel like there's a critical mass of people," said co-owner Stacy Poore.
Owners said they hope to open in mid to late June.
