PUEBLO — An event was held Sunday to celebrate Pueblo's diverse population.
The first Multicultural Festival took place at Mineral Palace Park.
The event included groups of folks with Mexican, Puerto Rican, African, German, Scottish and Irish backgrounds, just to name a few.
Organizers said along with celebrating their city, they invite folks from around the state to come and celebrate.
"Often times cultures or people are very segregated. And we feel if we have various cultures here where other people can identify with their culture we can educate and teach, and then share in the celebrations and joys of life," said ogrganizer, Javier Quinones.
The event ran until 7 p.m. Sunday night.
Organizers hope to make this an annual event and hope it becomes bigger and more diverse in the future.
