PUEBLO — A crash between a motorcycle and semi-truck east of Pueblo left one dead Wednesday evening, according to Colorado State Patrol.
The incident happened at the intersection of Highway 231 and Highway 50 around 6:35 p.m.
CSP said a semi-truck that was pulling a trailer was stopped at the intersection when the Harley-Davidson motorcycle was leaving a parking lot onto Highway 231.
Witnesses told CSP that the motorcyclist was traveling south and tried to drive around the semi-trailer on the right side.
The motorcyclist hit the curb and fell off the bike onto the ground under the trailer. CSP said the semi-truck driver was turning left onto Highway 50 when the driver ran over the motorcyclist.
CSP said the motorcyclist was taken to the Parkview Emergency Room and died due to his injuries. CSP said the motorcyclist was 67-year-old Paul Allen Mynatt from Pueblo, who was not wearing a helmet at the time.
The semi-truck driver was identified as 47-year-old David Heinze. He was not injured.
CSP said no charges have been filed and the crash remains under investigation.
