COLORADO SPRINGS — A motorcyclist who died in a crash Sunday afternoon has been identified by the Colorado Springs Police Department.
The department said 29-year-old Joshua D. Sellers died at the intersection of Hancock Expressway and Monica Drive West.
Officers on scene told a News5 crew that a car pulled out in front of the the motorcycle as the bike was headed east on Hancock. In a release Tuesday, the department believes excessive speed is a factor. Officers said Sellers was riding on Hancock toward Monica Drive West when he lost control and crashed.
Police said he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The department said this is the third motorcycle-related death this year. The investigation of this incident is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the department at (719) 444-7000.
