Motorcyclist dies in Pueblo after hitting guardrail

PUEBLO — A motorcyclist died early Tuesday morning after hitting a guardrail while traveling on Santa Fe Avenue in Pueblo, according to the Pueblo Police Department.

Officers received a call around 4 a.m. that reported a man was in the road next to his motorcycle. Police said the man was dead when they arrived.

The motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Santa Fe Avenue when he hit a guardrail at Alan Hamel Avenue, continued driving and fell off his motorcycle, according to PPD.

The name of the man will be released by the Pueblo County Coroner's Office once he is identified. The department is not sure whether speed, drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
