COLORADO SPRINGS — The Colorado Department of Transportation is ramping up the resurfacing work for the Highway 24 project near Manitou Springs.
More construction crews will be out in the area working overnight as the project nears its goal of having most of the paving work completed by December.
The whole project will continue into the spring.
Crews will also be patching up parts of the bridge near Manitou west of 8th Street.
CDOT is urging drivers to stay alert as the project progresses.
The project aims to repave all lanes of nearly 10 miles of the highway and rehabilitate bridges in a stretch between 8th Street to a point west of Manitou Springs.
The $11.5 million project is expected to completely finish up in early 2020.
