Missing hiker found safe after getting lost near Blodgett Peak area

COLORADO SPRINGS — UPDATE: Our News5 crew in the Blodgett Peak area has confirmed 66-year-old David Jolly was found safe Wednesday morning.

Crews are continuing to search for a missing 66-year-old hiker Wednesday in the area of Blodgett Peak, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.

The department said David Jolly went for a hike around noon Tuesday when his daughter said she received a call from him saying he was on Blodgett Peak and lost. His daughter was able to keep in contact with him until midnight but has not spoken to him since.

The Colorado Springs Fire Department and El Paso County Search and Rescue assisted the department in the search until 1:35 a.m. Wednesday. The police department said agencies resumed search efforts at 7 a.m.

Jolly is described as a white man who is 6' tall with gray hair and a gray beard. He was last seen wearing a red plaid shirt, jeans and white shoes.
