ROCKY FORD — Melon season has officially begun in Rocky Ford.

Farm stands are open and one farmer told News 5 they can't keep their cantaloupe on the shelves. As soon as they're stocked they're gone.

"All of our customers who been through are really excited and ready for fresh produce. The fields are all looking really good, so as long as we have some nice weather for the next couple months to ripen the fruit on the vines, it will be a really good season for everybody," Alisha Knapp with Knapp Farms said.

You can also buy Rocky Ford melons at your local grocery store. We're told they should be in stores in two to four weeks.
