Police: Man arrested in Fountain after threatening employee, breaking into Walmart

FOUNTAIN — Around 1:15 Sunday morning, Fountain Police officers were dispatched to the Walmart on Highway 85 in Fountain.

Fountain PD said they had received a report of a man threatening an employee with a knife and attempting to break into the closed store.

The department said when officers arrived, they found the man had damaged the entrance doors and was inside the store. He complied with officers and was taken into custody without incident.

Fountain PD said the man was armed with a knife when he was arrested and caused thousands of dollars worth of damage to the store.

The man has been identified as 32-year-old Joshua Berta. He was booked on charges of 1st Degree Burglary, Felony Menacing, and Felony Criminal Mischief.
