PUEBLO — Nearly 800 acres of land in Pueblo will be studied ahead of possible development.
The Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority will be studying Thunder Village, which is east of CSU Pueblo.
The group will check for any slum or blighted conditions, which could stem from illegal dumping or other activities.
The hope is to develop the land into a commercial and residential area.
"If we want to continue to grow and attract individuals to move here at different price points, we need to provide housing choices at each every one of the different price points," said PURA Executive Director, Jerry Pacheco.
The next step in the process for the group is to present its finding to city council next month. The council will decide whether or not to approve the plan.
