EL PASO COUNTY — Colorado health leaders want you to do more than wait for COVID-19 updates from them or other government leaders. From the start of the pandemic they have been putting data on-line. El Paso County Public just reworked its Data Dashboard. "You have 30 seconds; you want to know where El Paso County is right now; you visit the first page," said El Paso County Public Health, Data Specialist Fadi Youkhana. The updated format prioritizes key tracking points. There are three areas leading the data. They are COVID-19 incidents, the rate of positive tests, and hospitalizations.

"We do believe it's a great resource, not just for professionals and people tracking this, but also for more people to learn more about it,” said El Paso County Public Health, Data Specialist, Stephen Goodwin. The next pages offer more detail. Graphics show the ups, downs and COVID-19 trends. There are also explanations of why each data point is important to track.

The hope is data prompts informed decisions“Our job is to put the information in front of you and it's the individuals, sort of responsibility to then go and make the decision that best fits that individual and the risk to that individual," said Youkhana.
