COLORADO SPRINGS — A Colorado Springs man is spending 98.5 years in prison after a judge sentenced him on multiple felonies.

On May 22, 2019 a jury convicted 24-year-old Jerenzo Kyles of multiple felonies, including Second Degree Kidnapping, Attempted Murder, and Attempted Aggravated Robbery.

Some of the charges run consecutively and three run concurrently, resulting in a 58-year sentence for Kyles.

CSPD said Kyles entered a home in the 2800 block of Wyatt Street on April 4, 2018 with two other men, one of who had a gun. According to police, the men assaulted two young children in the home before leaving the scene.

Authorities said when the men were confronted by a neighbor, they fired shots at the neighbor and fled in a vehicle. No one was struck, but a vehicle and several homes were damaged.

The children were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Through video surveillance, the detectives identified the suspect vehicle and were able to identify and arrested the three men.
