PUEBLO — The Humane Society is trying to make it easier for people to get important care for their pets.

Saturday in Pueblo, the organization held a mobile spay and neuter event for cats on their "Wellness Waggin."

The event was sponsored by donors and all of the surgeries were free.

"The first step is no more kittens. Definitely better to help with that population, and then just that the free spay and neuter really helps out the community. It helps those struggling at times to help them get this taken care of," Wellness Program Coordinator Savannah Moore said.

The Humane Society holds mobile vaccination events and other wellness clinics regularly.

The schedule for these events and a link to make an appointment can be found on the Humane Society's website and Facebook page.
