HSPPR in Pueblo overloaded with cats

PUEBLO — It has been almost four months since the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region took over Animal Services in Pueblo and we wanted to check on its progress.

HSPPR says it is overloaded with cats. The group has transferred more than 100 felines to other locations in Pueblo.

The shelter has also hired an Animal Behavior Manager.

"I think the biggest thing is we are all moving forward not looking back, moving forward we are looking to collaborate as much as we can with other rescues and agencies in the community and just community members in general," says Associate Director Gale Caron.

New to the Pueblo Animal Shelter is the Wellness Wagon which is a mobile service to help with animal vaccinations.
