ASPEN — The Pitkin County Sheriff's Office and rescuers have recovered the body of a climber who fell approximately 200 feet and died while trying to summit Maroon Peak.
Deputies were alerted to the incident Wednesday around 7:05 p.m. when the International Emergency Response Coordination Center called Pitkin County dispatchers to report the activation of an SOS beacon on the standard route to Maroon Peak.
