EL PASO COUNTY — One person died and four others were injured in a crash on Highway 24 near Falcon Tuesday evening, according to Colorado State Patrol.

Troopers said a 2003 GMC Sierra traveling eastbound on Highway 24 went into the westbound lanes and hit a 2020 Ford SUV head-on just after 5 p.m.

The driver of the Ford, identified as Patrick Andre from Manchester, Missouri, was ejected out of the passenger side door that had been ripped off from the crash, according to authorities. Three passengers in Andre's car were taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries. Troopers said everyone in the Ford was wearing their seatbelts.

Authorities said Keith Noel, of Calhan, was the driver of the Sierra and he was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries. He was also wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

CSP said they are continuing to investigate the accident, but they do not believe alcohol or drugs are a factor.

Anyone who may have been a witness to the crash is asked to contact Trooper Thomas DeAntonio at (719) 544-2424.
