Grand opening of Skate in the Park offers free skating

COLORADO SPRINGS — Skate in the Park is celebrating this season's official opening with free skating Friday night.

The rink is located in Acacia Park in downtown Colorado Springs.

You and your family can enjoy free skating from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Grand Opening celebration.

If you can't make it, Skate in the Park normally costs $10, which includes skate rentals.

Children under 4 years old can get in for free as long as they are with an adult with a ticket.

Military and first responders can receive $1 off their admission price with valid ID.

Other holiday events are happening in downtown Colorado Springs, including the Tree Lighting ceremony on Nov. 23 and the 35th annual Festival of Lights Parade on Dec. 7.
