PUEBLO — A transportation group wants money from state lawmakers to move forward with a statewide rail line.
The Front Range Passenger Rail Commission held a meeting in Pueblo Friday. The group is putting a plan together to ask for a few million dollars to solidify a master plan for a rail line that runs from Trinidad to Cheyenne, Wyoming.
"Visit and of the metropolitan areas, what you are seeing is ultimate recognition that we cannot tax ourselves and build ourselves enough lanes to build higways," said Terry Hart, Pueblo County Commission. "We have to come up with other ways to transport our citizens."
There is no word yet on when the commission will have boots on the ground to start this project.
