Fremont County issues warning of possible COVID-19 exposure at rafting company

FREMONT COUNTY — The Fremont County Department of Public Health and Environment (FCDHE) issued a release Tuesday warning of possible COVID-19 exposure at a popular rafting company.

The FCDHE said it wants to notify rafters, patrons, and employees at the property containing Royal Gorge Rafting and Zip Line Tours and Whitewater Bar & Grill of a possible exposure to COVID-19 between July 13 and July 19.

Anyone who was on the property during this time should monitor themselves for symptoms of COVID-19 for at least 14 days after they were last there. They should also get tested, the FCDHE said.

According to the FCDHE, the owner of Royal Gorge Rafting and Zip Line Tours and Whitewater Bar & Grill said staff has been following social distancing guidelines, wearing masks, and symptom checking employees. At this time, no employees have tested positive for COVID-19.

Free testing is available at the FCDPHE on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8:30 am-11:30 am. Testing will continue to be performed via drive thru at the FCDHE by appointment only. .
