CANON CITY — Saturday, Fremont County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the 2100 block of Washington St. in Canon City.
They were responding to a reported shooting.
Deputies discovered a man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to St. Thomas More Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The identity of the man is being withheld until next-of-kin can be notified.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing and the Fremont County Sheriff's Office said further information would be released at this time.
