Fountain Police: Sexually Violent Predator moves into home on Race Street

FOUNTAIN — The Fountain Police Department is notifying the public of a sexually violent predator living at a home off Race Street.

The community notification is in accordance with Colorado law. Police said Dennis Eugene Hase is a sex offender who has been labeled a “sexually violent predator” by the court, according to the Fountain Police.

Hase was convicted of Attempted Sexual Assault – Overcome Victim’s Will – Felony in 2016. Hase has also been convicted of Sexual Assault on a Child in 1989, DWAI in 1987, Criminal Mischief in 1990, DWAI (two cases) in 2003, Assault in 2005, Attempted Burglary in 2006, Domestic Violence Assault in 2015 and a Class B Traffic Infraction in 2015.

Hase is registered and residing at 111 N. Race St. in Fountain. He is described as being as being 6’1” tall, weighing 170 lbs. with white hair and blue eyes.

Hase is the only ‘Sexually Violent Predator’ registered with Fountain Police Department who resides in this community. Fountain Police Department takes his presence in our community very seriously and is intent on ensuring he conducts himself in a lawful manner and that our citizens remain safe and aware.

The police department says it will make all reasonable efforts to ensure Hase registers as a sex offender and understands his responsibilities.

CSPD performed the following tasks required by law:

  • Notified the D.O.C. Sex Offender Management Board (SOMB) Notification Team.
  • Reviewed and confirmed Hase residence, employment, access to vehicles, legal status, and past crimes.
  • Briefed patrol personnel on Hase status, history, appearance, residence, employment and vehicles.
  • Notified surrounding law enforcement agencies.
